HELP I AM IN A FASHION DEPRESSION

fashion dpression,depression

Let me just start by saying that I am a little tired. I work at a Insurance Company were the dress code is not "strictly enforced" but we still are not able to wear what you would like. I am sitting here thinking "Wow. Breck you look horrible". I have really let myself go. My appearance is not what a "Affordable Fashionista Blogger" should look like. I am not sure where the train got off the tracks but it has been off for at least a year. I get up just in enough time to get ready, iron something really quick out of the closet and make it work. Frankly I am so tired of this routine, I could just scream. I am in "Fashion Depression" and I need some medicine STAT.

I have not been keeping up my appearance like I know I should. The same recycled outfits are covering my body week to week. Does anyone have this same depression as I? I give advice for Affordable Fashion and Style, then dress like I would need to be on "What NOT TO WEAR".

Enough is Enough I am taking back my style and appearance. I want to look a certain way, I know how but I am not investing enough in myself to make this happen. So I am taking a stand to against "Fashion Depression" once and for all. From this day forward I will like and feel like I want.

Here are my steps to make this action a reality:

1. Clean my closet- If I have not worn it in the past 6-8 months, it is time to say Goodbye.

2. Reselling Items- I want new clothes and what better way to get them is by getting some type of income for them.

3. Buy Carefully- A new season is approaching with new trends and goodness it time to start spring shopping again. But this year and from now on I am going to shop more carefully. Not by impulse but by thinking about the purchase and will I really wear or use the product that I am purchasing.

4. Respect Me- Your overall presence and presentation is a reflection of one's self. I do not want to look or feel this way anymore. I am going to Respect myself by taking the time necessary to make myself look and feel the way I truly want.

Is anyone with me? Share your comments and thoughts? Are you dealing with this too or have you ever dealt with this before?

Would you be interested in hearing about my progress?

Girl, I feel ya! I think it's the weather, it has us feeling blah and uninspired. I was actually just thinking the same thing. I DEFINITELY have been recycling outfits and cleaning out my closet and selling items is on my to-do list as well.

I plan on veggie out tonight on my couch with a stack of glossy magazines that have been calling my name for weeks. I'm even contemplating renting The September Issue off of OnDemand!

Hang in there, the end is near and spring cleaning will be inspiring! xo

I have to confess, that is me at work! I work in an office and I sit in the back corner....my number one priority for work clothes is comfort which leads to very boring repetitive outfits. I don't really even wear make up to work, so sometimes I really feel blah!

We do have dress codes, so same thing, I cannot really wear what I would like. As much as I love fashion, I am not into wearing super cute outfits at work. Most of the people I work with are older, so I would just feel like I was trying to get attention if I wore something that I might wear if I were working somewhere else....if you know what I mean...

I would rather spend my money on clothing that I will wear outside of work..hope you get out of your rut ;)

xoxo

Sadly, I deal with this same situation. I'm luckier than you though...I work in a creative field so we ARE allowed to wear almost anything we want, I just don't take much advantage of it. Anyway, I feel like I need a change in wardrobe, and it needs to be inexpensive. I don't want to be wearing the exact same outfits every week, I need to learn versatility and better accessorizing. Anyway, good luck to you on getting out of your rut.

I feel you, girl. I'm about to do a huge closet overhaul. I don't know how it got to this point, but even though I always feel like I have nothing to wear, the end of laundry day means there's not enough room for everything to fit! So I need to get rid of everything that doesn't fit or that I just never wear, no matter how much it hurts!

I for one would definitely be interested in hearing more about your fashion overhaul. Maybe we could even talk about doing guest blog posts on it? It IS spring... the clutter has to be addressed!
